Different types of British Gas Emergency Cover

There are plenty of different options available when it comes to British Gas Emergency Cover and you can pay as little as £2.50 a month for cover, that doesn’t include an annual boiler service.

The cheapest options available for £2.50 a month for boiler and controls breakdown and £5.50 a month for repairs to the boiler and control and the central heating system too. These two options don’t include an annual boiler service and they incur an excess of £99 when you call out an engineer to your home.

Other Homecare options start with prices from £12 a month, all of which include an annual boiler service, unlimited call-outs, a 24 hour customer service helpline so there’s always someone to help you and a 14 day cooling-off period in case you change your mind and want to cancel.

There are four Homecare options to choose from, all of which increase in price because you get more cover from them, they all have the annual boiler service and boiler and controls check included. Then you can further add on central heating, plumbing, drains and home electrics into your cover too.

Are the annual services worth the money?

You don’t have to be a British Gas customer to get your boiler serviced by them, instead you can pay a one-off fee to have them come out and check that everything is in working order.

The once-yearly check is designed to check over your boiler and central heating system, or gas appliance, depending on what contract you have. It checks whether they’re safe and working correctly.

Although you might feel like it’s a waste of money if you don’t have issues with these things in your home, there could be underlying issues that turn into much bigger problems that you’ll want sorting sooner rather than later.
